EU One Stop Shop Hosts Information Session on CBAM Requirements for Turkish Cypriot Traders

Funded by the European Union, on June 9, 2026, the EU One Stop Shop (EU OSS), organized an information session at the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce (TCCC) to support traders and consultants in understanding the requirements of the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).

CBAM introduces new reporting and compliance obligations for importers of carbon‑intensive goods entering the EU market. As several CBAM‑covered sectors—such as iron and steel, aluminium, cement and fertilisers—are active in Green Line Trade, the session aimed to provide clear and practical guidance tailored to the needs of Turkish Cypriot traders.

Participants received an overview of the CBAM framework, transitional and definitive phase obligations, and the emissions‑related data required from producers. The session also clarified how CBAM interacts with Green Line procedures and the role of documentation by TCCC.

The event forms part of the EU’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacity of businesses engaged in Green Line Trade and to ensure predictable, compliant, and efficient access to the EU market.
